Jimmy Gomez, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 34th district, has taken to social media to express his views on several pressing issues. In a series of tweets, he criticizes former President Donald Trump’s actions and policies, attributing various national challenges to his administration.

On March 3, 2025, Gomez addressed the issue of high egg prices in a tweet. He attributed the rising costs to Trump’s decision-making, specifically his dismissal of experts crucial for addressing problems like bird flu. Gomez stated: “Working families keep getting squeezed by high egg prices…The egg crisis is on him.” He also mentioned that he and the Dads Caucus have called out Trump and will continue to hold him accountable.

In another post on the same day, Gomez criticized Trump’s foreign policy approach towards Russia. He expressed concern over the perceived friendliness towards Putin and its implications for European security. Gomez tweeted: “Trump and his administration are rolling out the red carpet to Putin and Russia – leaving Europe vulnerable…”

Later that day, Gomez addressed economic concerns in another tweet. He countered claims blaming President Biden for economic downturns by pointing fingers at Trump’s tenure as the beginning of what he terms “The Trump Slump.” According to Gomez: “The Trump Slump began when he took office—raising tariffs, firing thousands of federal workers…”
