CONGRESSMAN SCHIFF ON HOUSE PASSAGE OF SHORT-TERM GOVERNMENT FUNDING LEGISLATION

0Comments

“House Democrats just passed a short-term government funding package that includes new inflation relief for low-income families, new disaster relief for communities reeling from natural and manmade catastrophes, and new assistance for Ukraine as it continues to beat back Putin’s bloody invasion. Once again, our party is delivering for the people – from lower costs to safer communities – as well as championing America’s highest ideals of democracy and freedom.

“At the same time, I was disappointed that the final package did not include much-needed funding to bolster our ongoing fight against COVID-19 and monkeypox virus. I look forward to revisiting these issues in the coming months, and to fighting for a final fiscal year 2023 government funding package that includes millions for critical housing, homelessness support, employment, public safety, public health, and education projects right in my district.”
