Representative Jimmy Gomez, who serves California’s 34th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on November 2 and 3, 2025, addressing topics ranging from sports celebrations to political criticism.
On November 2, Gomez congratulated the Los Angeles Dodgers for their consecutive championship win. He wrote: “World Series Champs…AGAIN!! Congrats to the @Dodgers for bringing it home two years in a row!”
The following day, Gomez criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies regarding food assistance. In his tweet dated November 3, he stated: “If your net worth doesn’t start with a B don’t expect anything more than table scraps from Donald Trump. Just ask the 42 million Americans who lost food assistance while he partied like Gatsby.”
Later that same day, Gomez commented on immigration enforcement with another pointed remark: “Haven’t gone far enough?? Any further and ICE will be deporting Melania…”
Gomez has represented California’s 34th congressional district since 2017 after succeeding Xavier Becerra. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Born in Orange County in 1974 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Gomez holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
