Representative Jimmy Gomez, who serves California’s 34th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account addressing current political dynamics and national leadership.

On October 30, 2025, Gomez posted: “Reminder that Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House.” On the following day, October 31, he continued his commentary on political developments by writing: “Just like I’ve been saying — temporary troops today is permanent troops tomorrow. Trump keeps saying he’s protecting America, but from who? The American people?” Later that same day, Gomez made another post referencing South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem: “For Kristi Noem, Halloween is just one more day terrorizing kids without a costume.”

Gomez has represented California’s 34th congressional district since 2017 after replacing Xavier Becerra. Prior to his time in Congress, he served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Born in Orange County in 1974 and currently residing in Los Angeles at age 48, Gomez earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
