Representative Jimmy Gomez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 34th district, shared several updates on his official X account on November 13, 2025. The posts addressed issues ranging from federal spending legislation to transparency in government and local emergency preparedness.

In a post early in the day, Gomez stated his opposition to a Republican-backed government spending agreement: “I voted NO on Republicans’ disastrous government spending deal. Read my full statement here.” (November 13, 2025).

Later that morning, he criticized House Republicans regarding the handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein: “Good morning to everyone, except the 215 Republicans who hid the Epstein files for 40+ days by refusing to sign our BIPARTISAN discharge petition. Rep. Adelita Grijalva is officially signature #218. The petition is LOCKED. Enjoy our latest feature: Breakfast at Jeffrey’s.” (November 13, 2025).

That evening, Gomez turned his attention to local matters by alerting Los Angeles residents about impending weather conditions and encouraging them to register for emergency notifications: “Lots of rain headed our way, LA! If you haven’t already, now is a good time to make sure you are signed up for emergency alerts from @NotifyLA.” (November 13, 2025).

Gomez has represented California’s 34th congressional district since replacing Xavier Becerra in 2017. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 2012 until his election to federal office. Born in Orange County in 1974 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Gomez earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA.
