Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district, has actively utilized social media to address current political issues and express support for public figures. Her tweets, which cover a variety of topics from public service acknowledgments to political disagreements, reflect her engagement in congressional affairs.
On April 28, 2025, Kamlager-Dove expressed gratitude towards Representative Gerry Connolly, highlighting his lifelong public service commitment. In her words, “Thank you, @GerryConnolly, for your lifetime commitment to public service. I’ve always known you to be a fighter and know you will win this battle too. I’m sending you strength in these difficult times & I look forward to serving alongside you through the remainder of your final”.
She took to Twitter again on April 29, addressing her stance against certain political actions. Kamlager-Dove remarked, “With great power comes great responsibility. But Trump and Republicans want power WITHOUT responsibility. Proud to stand against Republicans’ irresponsible leadership and their heartless, cruel cuts to vital programs.”
In another tweet from April 30, Kamlager-Dove criticized the deflection of responsibility by some political figures. She stated, “Trump, Rubio, & Waltz all championed Women, Peace, & Security because they once understood that women play an integral role in preventing and resolving conflicts globally. WPS isn’t why national secrets are being leaked. Stop blaming women for your own failures.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove, born in Chicago in 1972 and residing in Los Angeles, has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after a term in the California State Senate and Assembly. A University of Southern California alumna, she reflects a consistent engagement in legislative duties and constituents’ advocacy.
