Los Angeles Unified is appreciative of Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed 2023-24 State Budget that provides funding stability for public schools despite other parts of the state budget that will experience budgetary challenges. This fiscal bolstering is imperative to help temporarily offset the one-time federal funds that will culminate in the forthcoming years. The District also applauds the focus on uplifting and addressing the needs of our most fragile students at high-poverty schools, which provides complementary investment to the work the District is already undertaking. We look forward to reviewing additional details to inform the impact to the District and the school communities we serve.
