U.S. Congressman Jimmy Gomez, representing California’s 34th District, has been active on social media expressing his advocacy for diverse community groups and accountability in government actions. Serving in the Congress since 2017, Gomez succeeds Xavier Becerra and was previously a member of the California State Assembly. His social presence exhibits a dedication to community representation and political responsibility.

On May 1, 2025, Rep. Gomez recognized Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. He shared his pride in representing a district rich with diverse neighborhoods such as Koreatown, Chinatown, Historic Filipinotown, Little Tokyo, and Little Bangladesh.

Later that day, on May 1, Gomez addressed concerns involving former President Trump. In his post, he stated, “Trump literally bragged in the Oval Office that his friends cashed in on his 90-day tariff pause. His tariffs are opening the door to corruption and insider trading.” Gomez, alongside Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Judy Chu, demands accountability for these actions.

On May 2, 2025, Gomez participated in a May Day event, showing solidarity with workers and immigrant families. In his statement, he emphasized that “Everyone deserves to have their rights protected, including immigrant workers.” The event marked his commitment to supporting labor rights and advocating for underrepresented communities.

Jimmy Gomez is committed to addressing both the local needs of his district as well as broader issues, such as government accountability and workers’ rights.
