Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 34th district, has been outspoken on various issues impacting both domestic and international affairs. Through a series of tweets, Gomez shared his views on matters ranging from geopolitical tensions to labor rights in the entertainment industry.

On March 29, 2025, Gomez criticized prominent figures such as Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and Elon Musk, dismissing their concerns about Greenland’s safety from Russia and China. He expressed skepticism of their intentions, suggesting their role in what he describes as “selling out Ukraine and Europe to Putin” in a post saying, “The world isn’t stupid… Remember this is the same group of useful idiots that are selling out Ukraine and Europe to Putin.”

Later that day, Gomez discussed the importance of the entertainment industry in his district. He highlighted the efforts of @SAGAFTRA members, who number 33,000 in his area, to secure fair pay, robust benefits, and control over their likeness amid growing AI influence. Gomez stated, “Hollywood runs on talent—on screen and behind the scenes… I’ll always have their back.”

In another tweet on March 29, Gomez humorously directed his followers to a segment involving Stephen Colbert, referencing his own questioning of the CIA Director. He noted, “They not like us. Watch 0:40 to see what Stephen Colbert thought of my questioning to the CIA Director. “
