Rep. Jimmy Gomez, who represents California’s 34th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of issues including immigration enforcement, gun violence, and allegations of unlawful military conduct.
On November 30, 2025, Gomez shared an account involving a family impacted by immigration enforcement: “One father, a U.S. citizen, walked into a green-card interview with his wife & 4-month-old baby. He walked out with the baby in his arms…& his wife in ICE custody. No criminal record, just families being separated. Trump said he would only go after violent criminals, he lied.” This post highlights concerns about family separations under immigration policies.
The following day, December 1, 2025, Gomez addressed gun violence in Stockton and criticized Republican lawmakers for their stance on gun reform: “As a dad, I can’t stop thinking about the parents in Stockton grieving because their child became the next victim of gun violence. We owe these families more than thoughts and prayers, we owe them change. If Republicans refuse to act on gun reform, they’re complicit every time.”
Later that same day, Gomez commented on reports regarding an alleged “kill-all” order: “A ‘kill-all’ order is illegal. It’s wrong. And it violates everything we claim to stand for. This must be investigated, and if true, Hegseth must be held accountable.”
