Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 34th district, has posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent political controversies and personal anecdotes.

On March 9, 2026, Gomez wrote, “Hate in its purest form. Every Republican must condemn Andy’s bigotry. He doesn’t deserve to hold public office.” On March 11, he added, “Even Trump’s own MAGA party is calling out this tragedy.” The following day, Gomez shared a personal note: “My 3-year-old son had the same idea last week.”

Gomez has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Xavier Becerra and previously held a seat in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2017. Born in Orange County in 1974 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Gomez holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
