Rep. Jimmy Gomez, currently serving California’s 34th district in the U.S. Congress, has expressed strong opinions on various national issues through his recent tweets. Gomez, who succeeded Xavier Becerra in 2017, has been an active voice in Congress since then.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Gomez criticized a security protocol breach, stating: “This is beyond stupid and an unacceptable breach of security protocol. We must treat this matter with the gravity it deserves. The safety of our service members and national security interests may have been put at risk by a reckless failure of judgment and basic common sense.”

Later that day, he commented on actions taken by the Trump administration concerning tax enforcement against immigrants: “My statement on the Trump administration weaponizing the IRS to target immigrants:”

In another tweet from the same date, Rep. Gomez addressed concerns about social security benefits and alleged administrative errors involving prominent figures: “Elon Musk and Trump are so desperate to gut your benefits, they even marked a senior as dead when he’s still alive. Audits show fraud at SSA is virtually nonexistent…because it was never about waste—it’s about taking what you’ve earned.”
