Teachers in Los Angeles were advised not to share pictures of their vacations on social media platforms if they wish to travel for spring break.

The message was posted on the United Teachers Los Angeles group (UTLA) Facebook page. The administrator of the account said that the reason for keeping vacation photos off social media is that it will be harder to convince parents that it is safe for in-person teaching if their children’s teachers have been to places outside the city.

Since the global pandemic, cities across the country have been implementing lockdowns and discouraging unnecessary traveling to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The UTLA argues that if teachers post vacation photos, parents might feel fearful for their children's safety.
