Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing issues ranging from local pride to national policy and international advocacy.
On March 29, 2026, Kamlager-Dove responded to criticism of her city with a pointed message: “Shot, chaser. Don’t come for my city unless we send for you, Pam.”
The following day, she voiced strong opposition to proposed funding for what she described as “Trump’s disastrous war of choice.” On March 30, 2026, she wrote: “I was already a HELL NO on $200 billion more for Trump’s disastrous war of choice. But to ‘pay’ for it with MORE cuts to health care and other lifelines while the American people are struggling is straight-up evil. I’ll be fighting this with everything we’ve got.”
On March 31, 2026, Kamlager-Dove announced the passage of her bill focused on Afghan women and girls: “I am grateful that my bill, the Rejecting the Erasure of Afghan Women and Girls Act, passed @HouseForeign with bipartisan support. It was an honor to share this moment with Afghan girls who are pursuing the education they were denied by the Taliban here in the U.S.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Karen Bass. She previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (2018-2021) and California Senate (2021-2023). Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994.
