Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 15 and 16, 2026, addressing recent political developments and sharing personal commentary.
On February 15, Kamlager-Dove criticized Republican lawmakers and former President Donald Trump regarding the shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. She wrote, “The Department of Homeland Security shut down yesterday because Trump and Republicans refuse to negotiate commonsense reforms to rein in ICE. I will keep fighting for accountability—and I won’t let up until we get it.”
The following day, she commented on Presidents’ Day with a pointed message: “Happy Presidents’ Day to everybody except Donald Trump” (February 16, 2026).
Later that same day, Kamlager-Dove tweeted about Culver City, stating: “Don’t come for Culver City unless we send for you.” (February 16, 2026).
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served in Congress since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. Prior to her tenure in the House of Representatives, she was a member of the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and served in the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in 1994.
