Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on November 11, 2025, addressing international diplomacy, Veterans Day observances, and a recent incident in India.
In her capacity as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, Kamlager-Dove shared details of her diplomatic engagement at an international summit. On November 11, she wrote: “As Ranking Member of @HouseForeign’s Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, I met with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan during the C5 + 1 Summit. I appreciated our discussion on efforts to repeal the Jackson-Vanik amendment, ensure continued accreditation of Radio Free”.
Later that day, she marked Veterans Day by encouraging eligible individuals to apply for nominations to U.S. military service academies. In her post dated November 11, she stated: “It’s Veterans Day, and also the last day to apply for a Military Service Academy nomination! If you’ve been thinking about serving and leading, don’t miss this chance. Submit your application today! “.
Kamlager-Dove also addressed an explosion at Delhi’s Red Fort in India. In a message posted on November 11, she expressed sympathy for those affected: “My heart goes out to all those affected by the explosion at Delhi’s Red Fort and I extend my sincerest condolences to those who lost loved ones. I will continue to closely monitor developments as law enforcement investigates and more details emerge.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Karen Bass as representative for California’s 37th district. She previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (2018-2021) and California Senate (2021-2023). Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 1994.
