Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several national issues and local recognitions through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On May 8, Kamlager-Dove marked Teacher Appreciation Week by expressing gratitude to educators nationwide. She wrote, “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! To all the incredible educators across our nation: thank you for inspiring and shaping the next generation of leaders every day. Special shoutout to Claudia Hernandez-Lemus for being named @LASchools’ 2026 Teacher of the Year! “
The following day, she commented on recent political developments concerning congressional redistricting. On May 9, she posted, “Republicans launched a redistricting war when they stole five Congressional seats in Texas for Trump. Now, they’re trying to strip us of fair representation in states like Tennessee, Louisiana, and Alabama after SCOTUS’ decision in LA v. Callais. Later that same day, Kamlager-Dove weighed in on the proposed merger between Warner Bros. and Paramount. She stated her support for an official review of the deal by California Attorney General Rob Bonta and voiced concerns about its implications for media competition and employment. Her tweet read: “I support @AGRobBonta’s review of the proposed Warner Bros.-Paramount merger. I’m concerned about what this proposed merger means for competition, independence for media outlets like CNN that would be owned by the Ellisons, and job cuts.
