Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on March 21, 2026, addressing both religious observances and healthcare policy.
In her first post of the day, Kamlager-Dove extended greetings to those celebrating Eid: “Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating! May this holiday bring you happiness, peace, and good health after a month of reflection during Ramadan.” (March 21, 2026).
Later that afternoon, she commented on the role of Planned Parenthood in healthcare delivery and criticized actions taken by former President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers: “Planned Parenthood doesn’t just provide reproductive care. They provide HEALTH CARE. And Trump and Republicans defunded Planned Parenthood, making health care more expensive and less accessible for everyone.” (March 21, 2026).
In a subsequent post that evening, Kamlager-Dove referenced rising costs under the previous administration: “Yet another example of costs going up under Trump” (March 21, 2026).
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th District in Congress since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and in the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in 1994.
