Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues ranging from pay equity to government accountability and sports enthusiasm in a series of posts on March 26, 2026.
On Equal Pay Day, Kamlager-Dove wrote, “Women remain underpaid and undervalued, despite the vital role we play in strengthening our society and economy. This Equal Pay Day, I’m fighting for fair wages, expanded opportunities, and true equity for all women in the workplace.” (March 26, 2026).
Later that day, she criticized congressional Republicans regarding oversight of military spending related to the Trump Administration. She posted: “This is crazy. Why would you not want to ask the Trump Administration questions about a war that they want an additional $200 BILLION for?? Republicans need to step up and do their jobs—and if they don’t want to work, they don’t deserve their government paychecks.” (March 26, 2026).
Kamlager-Dove also expressed support for her local baseball team with a brief message: “Time to run it back again! Let’s go Dodgers! #ITFDB” (March 26, 2026).
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served as a member of Congress since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. Before her current position representing California’s 37th district at the federal level, she served in both the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in 1994.
