Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing historical preservation, public safety during severe weather, and local economic concerns.

On February 14, 2026, Kamlager-Dove expressed criticism of actions by the Trump Administration regarding historical exhibits at national parks. She stated: “If we let the Trump Administration get away with erasing history, we are doomed to repeat it. Removing exhibits about slavery from our National Parks is shameful. As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday we must remember that Black history IS American history—dark”.

The following day, on February 15, she addressed her constituents in Los Angeles ahead of an approaching storm. She advised: “Angelenos, prepare for the upcoming storm! Sign up for emergency alerts at https://t.co/rTQtLRQ8qD to help keep you and your family safe and warm throughout the storm.”

Later that same day, Kamlager-Dove raised concerns about federal immigration enforcement and trade policies affecting her district’s Flower District. She wrote: “Trump is targeting a vibrant commercial and cultural hub in my district with lawless ICE raids and reckless tariff policies. I will fight to protect the Flower District. Don’t forget to support your local florists this Valentine’s weekend.”

Sydney Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th congressional district since replacing Karen Bass in 2023 and previously served in both chambers of California’s state legislature (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Kamlager-Dove). Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
