Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently shared her views on national politics, entertainment, and international relations through a series of posts on social media.
On January 25, 2026, Kamlager-Dove addressed concerns about Kristi Noem and government spending by stating, “Yes, Kristi Noem should be impeached. What we’re seeing in the news scares me to death.
DHS got $191 billion in the Big Ugly Bill, and she has not come before @HouseJudiciary to explain to the American people and Congress how she’s using that money.”
The following day, January 26, she commented on recent Academy Award nominations with a personal note: “Congrats to all of the Oscars nominees, including a historic number of Black nominees! Especially proud of Delroy Lindo (I used to be his assistant!) who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
He has a humble story and a huge heart… and soon, no jinx, perhaps an #Oscar!”
Later that same day, as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s South & Central Asia Subcommittee, Kamlager-Dove extended greetings for India’s Republic Day: “As Ranking Member of @HouseForeign’s South & Central Asia Subcommittee, I’m wishing a happy Republic Day to the people of India!
The commemoration of the adoption of your constitution reminds us of our shared ideals. May we continue to strengthen the bond between our countries.”
Kamlager-Dove began representing California’s 37th congressional district in 2023 after succeeding Karen Bass. She previously served in both the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and in the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles at age 50, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in 1994.
