Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of topics in a series of posts on her official social media account between March 9 and March 10, 2026.
On March 9, Kamlager-Dove recognized participants of a major local sporting event, stating: “Congratulations to everyone who crossed the finish line at the Los Angeles Marathon yesterday! Your perseverance and strength inspire us all.”
The following day, she commented on national defense policy and the possibility of military conscription, writing: “Refusing to rule out a draft is crazy. No boots on the ground, no draft for Trump’s war of choice.” This post was published on March 10.
Later that same day, Kamlager-Dove turned her attention to women’s sports and labor negotiations within professional basketball. She posted: “Women’s basketball is more popular—and profitable—than it’s ever been. The WNBA and players’ union must strike a deal that ensures athletes are compensated fairly and that the game can continue to grow.”
Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th district since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in both the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972, Kamlager-Dove has lived in Los Angeles for several years and graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
