Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets between February 20 and 21, 2026, addressing topics ranging from tax policy to transparency in government and Black History Month celebrations.
On February 20, Kamlager-Dove criticized former President Donald Trump’s stance on grocery taxation, writing “Trump just doubled down on illegally taxing your groceries”.
The following day, she questioned the handling of certain Department of Justice documents related to allegations about the sitting president. In her tweet dated February 21, she stated: “This should be front-page news. What happened after these interviews? Why were the documents deleted from the DOJ’s site?
These are damning allegations about the sitting president, and the public deserves to know the truth.”
Later that same day, Kamlager-Dove highlighted her office’s celebration of Black History Month by sharing: “Welcome to Capitol Cribs: Black History Month edition!
My office is decked out with Black history year-round. Check it out!”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Karen Bass. She previously held positions in both the California State Assembly and State Senate between 2018 and 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 1994.
