Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on March 20, 2026, addressing recent developments in women’s sports, rising gas prices in Los Angeles, and antisemitic violence.
In her first post at 18:03 UTC, Kamlager-Dove celebrated an agreement between the WNBA and its players’ association, stating “Glad that the WNBA and the players’ association ironed out a fair deal before the season tips off following our letters from @DemWomenCaucus. This is a big win for the players, the league, and women’s sports! Looking forward to watching my @LASparks this year! “
Later that evening at 20:03 UTC, she commented on fuel costs in Los Angeles: “It’s hard to get around LA with these gas prices so high. They just hit $5.76 today. Let’s be real: there’s one cause for these high prices, and it’s Trump’s reckless war in Iran.”
At 22:13 UTC, Kamlager-Dove addressed antisemitic violence after an assassination plot targeting fellow House member Jared Moskowitz was revealed. She wrote “Sending love to my friend and @HouseJudiciary seatmate @RepMoskowitz, who was a target of an antisemitic assassination plot. With antisemitism and antisemitic violence on the rise, we must stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters against this hate that makes us all less safe.”
Kamlager-Dove has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Karen Bass. Before her current role, she was a member of both the California State Assembly (2018–2021) and California Senate (2021–2023). Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 1994.
