Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media criticizing former President Donald Trump and calling for accountability following reports of violence involving federal authorities.
On April 8, 2026, Kamlager-Dove wrote: “In 12 hours Trump went from threatening to wipe out 90 million Iranians to capitulating to all of Iran’s demands. That willingness to commit unspeakable atrocities is not a “negotiating tactic,” it demonstrates Trump’s severe mental instability. While I am grateful that this”.
The following day, she continued her criticism with another post dated April 9, 2026: “His brain is decaying more and more every day. It’s far past time to take away the keys. Impeach and invoke the 25th Amendment.”
On April 10, 2026, Kamlager-Dove addressed a separate issue regarding law enforcement actions at a public demonstration: “I’m horrified by this report of DHS violence against a USC student photographer at LA’s No Kings rally. ICE’s reign of terror & continued attacks on civilians exercising their First Amendment rights must end. There must be an immediate investigation. We’ll hold them accountable.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served in Congress since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. She previously held positions in the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and in the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972, she currently resides in Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
