Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing federal government funding issues and celebrating local sports achievements.
On November 2, 2025, Kamlager-Dove criticized proposed cuts to health care and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) funds. She wrote, “A little party never killed nobody” but your cuts to health care and threatening of SNAP funds will. Open the government and protect our care NOW.
Continuing her criticism the following day, Kamlager-Dove directly addressed another member of Congress in a tweet dated November 3, 2025: Don’t play with me, lady. I’ll vote to open the government and protect health care. Why do you pray for the hungry at the Congressional Prayer Caucus and yet YOU voted to CUT $186 billion from SNAP?
In a separate post on November 3, 2025, she congratulated the Los Angeles Dodgers on their recent World Series win: One World Series? It’s not enough! Congrats to the @Dodgers on another storybook season! You brought LA some much-needed joy—see you at the parade!
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served as the representative for California’s 37th District since 2023 after replacing Karen Bass. Before her current role in Congress, she was a member of both the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972, Kamlager-Dove currently resides in Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
