Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on March 14, 2026, expressing concern over recent military casualties and calling for greater transparency from government leaders.
In her first post on March 14, Kamlager-Dove addressed the deaths of American servicemembers in the Middle East: “I’m devastated by the loss of 6 more brave servicemembers in the Middle East. I send my deepest condolences to their loved ones.
Trump said Monday that his reckless war of choice is ‘very complete,’ yet our troops are still dying. This must end before more Americans are harmed.”
Later that day, she questioned the handling of information regarding troop casualties: “Why are Trump and Hegseth withholding details about troop casualties from the public? I am praying for those injured and their loved ones, who I hope were properly notified.
Experts say this attack could have been easily prevented. We need more transparency, not less.”
In another statement posted on March 14, Kamlager-Dove referenced her constituents’ desire for honest leadership: “My constituents, like Mae, want an honest, courageous government.
It’s time for our leaders to choose the American people.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th district since replacing Karen Bass in 2023. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of both the California State Assembly (2018–2021) and California Senate (2021–2023). She was born in Chicago in 1972 and currently resides in Los Angeles. Kamlager-Dove earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 1994.
