Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of topics on her Twitter account on May 5, 2026.
In one post dated May 5, 2026, Kamlager-Dove celebrated local film production and tax incentives by writing: “May the Fourth be with you! Can’t wait to see The Mandalorian & Grogu—filmed in LA with the CA film tax credit—on the big screen this month! Bringing production back to Hollywood? This is the way.”
Later that day, she raised questions regarding former President Donald Trump’s activities during his term: “Why did Donald Trump make a visit to the dentist that was not on the presidential schedule (like the president’s medical appointments typically are)? Why did the White House tell reporters asking further questions to refer to the pool report, which simply stated that Trump went” (posted May 5, 2026).
She also marked Cinco de Mayo by recognizing Mexican American contributions: “¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Today, we celebrate Mexican American strength, heritage, and pride—especially here in CA, where the first celebrations were held! Today and every day, we honor the Mexican American community’s leadership and contributions that move this country forward.” (posted May 5, 2026).
Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th District since succeeding Karen Bass in Congress in 2023. Prior to her current role in Washington D.C., she served in both chambers of California’s state legislature—the Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and Senate from 2021 until her election to Congress. Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree.
