On March 14, 2026, Kamlager-Dove addressed the Federal Communications Commission’s response to criticism from Pete Hegseth and former President Donald Trump regarding negative media coverage of ongoing military operations. She wrote: “The FCC is threatening broadcasters after Hegseth & Trump complained about negative press coverage of their disastrous war of choice. Have they considered that the headlines are bad because they reflect reality? Stop trampling on the Constitution and get us out of this mess.”
The following day, March 15, 2026, she commented on reports involving civilian casualties linked to U.S. military action. Kamlager-Dove stated: “Trump is refusing to take responsibility for a reported U.S. strike that killed at least 175 civilians at an Iranian girls’ school. I was proud to join @RepSaraJacobs, @RepYassAnsari, & @RepJasonCrow in demanding answers about this tragedy. This reckless war of choice must”
Later that same day, she posted criticism directed at Kristi Noem: “Kristi Noem was making bad decisions, had conflicts of interest, and failed to take accountability. That’s why she got canned.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th District in Congress since 2023 after replacing Karen Bass. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served in the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and in the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 1994.
