Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on October 30, 2025, to criticize House Republicans and highlight issues related to immigration enforcement and Afghan resettlement.
In a post published at 17:11 UTC, Kamlager-Dove wrote, “Apparently ‘the most meaningful work’ of House Republicans’ lives is burying the Epstein files, forcing people to go hungry, letting Trump recklessly kidnap people and blow up boats in the Caribbean, and… leaf blowing??”
Later that day at 19:22 UTC, she addressed concerns about stranded Afghans and congressional action for their resettlement. She stated, “In July, I pressed the senior @StateDept official in charge of this camp on the stranded Afghans, and he didn’t even know of its existence. We must pass my Enduring Welcome Act—which has passed in @HouseForeign—to resettle the Afghan allies who risked everything to help the U.S.”
At 21:34 UTC on October 30th, Kamlager-Dove criticized federal immigration agencies by posting: “ICE & Border Patrol are a danger to public safety—not just for immigrant communities, but for every American. If they will assault and gravely injure a 67-year-old U.S. citizen for simply going back to his house, they could come for you too.”
Sydney Kamlager-Dove began representing California’s 37th District in Congress in 2023 after serving terms in both the California State Assembly (2018-2021) and Senate (2021-2023). She succeeded Karen Bass as representative of the district. Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
