Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of critical tweets on October 31, 2025, addressing actions by House Republicans and former President Donald Trump.

On October 31, Kamlager-Dove wrote, “House Republicans have literally been on vacation since September 19”. The tweet comes amid ongoing debates in Congress about legislative productivity.

Later that day, she commented on tariffs and inflation with a Halloween-themed post: “Boo! It’s the tariffs. What’s really spooky this spooky season is how much everything costs thanks to Trump. Happy Halloween! “.

In a third tweet posted in the evening, Kamlager-Dove referenced an interview regarding legal questions around redistricting: “Sat down with @MariaTeresa to find out if Trump’s Texas powergrab is legal. Turns out—unlike California’s redistricting effort—that sh*t ain’t legal.”

Sydney Kamlager-Dove has represented California’s 37th district since replacing Karen Bass in 2023 and previously served in both the California State Assembly and Senate. Born in Chicago in 1972, she currently resides in Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
