Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on March 31, 2026, addressing issues ranging from presidential pardons to Department of Justice investigations and technology’s impact on creative industries.
In her first post of the day, Kamlager-Dove wrote: “Trump is abusing his pardon powers to bail out a billionaire fraudster. This nursing home magnate was not only convicted of tax fraud, but also has failed to pay millions he owes to workers and patients.
@HouseJudiciary will continue to investigate Trump’s corrupt pardons.” (March 31, 2026)
Later that afternoon, she addressed actions by the Department of Justice: “Trump’s DOJ is targeting political opponents yet again. There isn’t evidence of wrongdoing by Rep. Swalwell & the FBI is wasting vital national security resources while we’re at war.
Kash Patel should be investigating how his own email was hacked by Iran, not an old closed case.” (March 31, 2026)
In her final post that evening, Kamlager-Dove highlighted her participation in a discussion about artificial intelligence and creativity: “Great to join @Google and @iamwill’s FYI this month for a discussion on how creators and artists can leverage AI to improve their workflows and enhance their creativity.
We can—and must—protect creatives and the humanity of our art while embracing the future.” (March 31, 2026)
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in both chambers of California’s state legislature. She succeeded Karen Bass in representing California’s 37th district in Washington D.C., following earlier roles in the State Assembly from 2018-2021 and State Senate from 2021-2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and now residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 1994.
