In her first post of the day, Kamlager-Dove addressed economic concerns, stating: “The data confirms what your wallet already knew: Trump is making life more expensive while your paychecks look the same. Let’s be clear: One person started the Iran War, imposed reckless, illegal tariffs, and tanked the economy—Donald Trump.” (May 12, 2026)
Later that afternoon, she commented on recent remarks made by Representative Jen Kiggans about the House Minority Leader. Kamlager-Dove wrote: “Instead of apologizing for agreeing with incredibly vile, racist remarks about the House Minority Leader, Jen Kiggans called her RECORDED comments a ‘lie and distortion’ and tried to somehow pin this on Democrats. That’s straight-up delusional. We can’t ignore the context. She” (May 12, 2026)
In a third tweet posted in the evening, Kamlager-Dove again criticized Trump’s approach to economic issues: “Trump doesn’t think about your financial situation. His words, not mine.” (May 12, 2026)
Sydney Kamlager-Dove has served as a member of Congress since replacing Karen Bass in 2023 and previously held seats in both the California State Assembly from 2018 to 2021 and the California Senate from 2021 to 2023. Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles at age fifty, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
