Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, who represents California’s 37th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on May 5 and 6, 2026, raising concerns about taxpayer spending related to former President Donald Trump and offering commentary on political discourse.

On May 5, Kamlager-Dove questioned Republican support for funding renovations at Trump’s property: “Trump literally said his ballroom would not cost taxpayers a penny. Why are Republicans champing at the bit to fund it?? Even if this money is for ‘security,’ it’s $1 BILLION of your tax dollars that wouldn’t have been spent if Trump didn’t tear down the East Wing.”

Continuing her commentary on May 6, she posted: “The force is not very hidden, he actually never shuts the hell up”. Later that day, she shared another post containing only links: “https://t.co/LDZcuf1jO7 https://t.co/AxaVmLDf03”.

Born in Chicago in 1972 and currently residing in Los Angeles, Kamlager-Dove graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 1994.
