WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) joined Spectrum News’ ‘Inside the Issues’ with Cassie Semyon to discuss House Republicans’ ‘Default on America Act,’ which passed the House last week and proposes devastating cuts to programs that CA-37 families rely on. Below is a transcript of her remarks and a link to the video.

“[House Republicans’ debt limit bill] is a default on America. This is about creating chaos with the American economy and with American people. It is all about cutting, cutting, cutting programs that keep people alive: Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits. The debt ceiling is about our obligations as a country to pay our bills. So, if we are cutting what we need to actually pay our bills, then we’re actually gonna be putting American lives at risk.”
