The 2024 LA Marathon is scheduled to take place this Sunday, March 17, 2024. Athletes from all 50 states and over 63 countries will participate in the event, starting at Dodger Stadium and finishing on the Avenue of the Stars in Century City. The LA Marathon is known as the largest marathon in California, the fourth largest in the country, and the seventh largest in the world.
Different entertainment centers along the course will showcase the diverse ethnic neighborhoods and cultural richness of both Los Angeles and the participants. The marathon is expected to be a vibrant celebration of athleticism and diversity.
In preparation for the event, the LA City Emergency Management Department issued a reminder to the public, stating, "Starting early THIS Sunday (yes, that's St. Patrick's Day) ... don't expect to get 'lucky' if your movements require you to cross the Marathon's route (see map). Plan ahead, run ERRANDS ahead, avoid affected areas."
