The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has issued a reminder that all fireworks, including those labeled 'safe and sane,' are illegal within the City of Los Angeles. The department urges residents to "Think About Your Neighbor" and celebrate safely this 4th of July.

Personal fireworks can have adverse effects on children, pets, and combat veterans. Additionally, the risk of wildfires remains significant. LAFD encourages residents to attend public fireworks displays, which will be more accessible this year compared to last.

Those who use, possess, or transport any type of firework may face criminal prosecution or severe injury. The LAFD reported an increase in emergency incidents around July 4th last year compared to the daily average.
