Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a U.S. Congressman representing California's 34th district, shared several updates on November 19, 2024, regarding infrastructure improvements in Los Angeles facilitated by federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The aim is to replace old school buses with greener alternatives "Getting our kids to school can be eco-friendly!"

On the same day, Rep. Gomez discussed improvements in public transportation in Los Angeles. He noted that "@MetroLosAngeles helps people get to work and reduces emissions," emphasizing the allocation of "over $77 million for new electric buses" under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This investment aims to enhance air quality and public transport services "With over 270 million riders annually..."

Additionally, Rep. Gomez addressed efforts to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists in East Los Angeles. Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, nearly "$10 million" was secured to construct new pedestrian and bike bridges over I-710 "Keeping Angelenos safe on and off the roads is a top priority."
