On March 7, 2025, Gomez emphasized the importance of organizations like CHIRLA that assist legal residents on their path to citizenship. He stated, "Orgs like @CHIRLA supports legal residents with apps, English, civics & more on their path to citizenship." Reflecting on his personal connection to immigration through his parents' journey from Mexico, he noted his leadership in urging USCIS to release funds approved for these efforts.

The following day, March 8, 2025, Gomez participated in Read Across America week at Eagle Rock Elementary. He expressed enjoyment in engaging with students and teachers by tweeting: "Had a great time participating in Read Across America week with the wonderful teachers and students of @EagleRockElem today!" During this event, he read to third graders and taught civics to fifth graders.

Later on March 8, Gomez addressed concerns regarding Republican plans affecting Medicaid and Medicare. He tweeted: "Republicans plan to gut Medicaid and Medicare to pay for billionaire tax breaks." He warned that such actions could impact seniors, children, people with disabilities, and working families but assured followers that there is organized resistance against these proposals.
