Rep. Jimmy Gomez, representing California's 34th district, recently expressed his concerns on various issues through a series of tweets. A staunch advocate for working families over billionaires, Gomez, who succeeded Xavier Becerra in 2017, addressed Republican strategies, tax policies, and immigration-related concerns.

On April 8, 2025, Gomez questioned the absence of Republican members of Congress, asking "Why won’t Republican members of Congress show up and listen to the people they represent? Everyone deserves to be heard, and Democrats are out here fighting and putting working families first—not billionaires."

Later that day, Gomez criticized Congressional Republicans with regard to tax policies, stating "Congressional Republicans want $5 TRILLION in tax breaks for billionaires — paid for by cutting Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance for working families. It’s pure greed — plain and simple."

In another tweet on the same day, Gomez addressed concerns over immigrant families and the Internal Revenue Service, asserting that "The IRS should NEVER be weaponized to target immigrant families. This backdoor deal with ICE shatters decades of trust—and may be illegal. I serve on @WaysMeansCmte. I will fight this with everything I’ve got. No one should fear that filing taxes puts their family at risk."
