Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, representing California's 37th district, has recently voiced her opinions on various issues via social media. Kamlager-Dove, who graduated from the University of Southern California and resides in Los Angeles, took office in 2023 following her predecessor Karen Bass. Known for her background in state politics, she served in both the California State Assembly and the California Senate.
On April 2, 2025, she raised concerns over tariffs, Pete Hegseth's actions, and former President Donald Trump's alignment with Vladimir Putin. While critiquing certain elements of Republican politics, Kamlager-Dove questioned, "But Republicans are wasting taxpayer resources peddling a conspiracy theory on censorship in a State Dept. office that no longer exists?"
Later that day, she introduced the Defending American Diplomacy Act, criticizing the involvement of a group including Elon Musk and Peter Marocco in altering U.S. foreign policy structures. Advocating for stronger protections, Kamlager-Dove stated that "Elon, Jan. 6 rioter Peter Marocco, & a 19-year-old DOGE bro named 'Big Balls' are gutting U.S. foreign policy institutions."
Furthermore, she made an additional reference to Pete Hegseth's revelation of information, naming it the "spread (classified info) offense" "Hegseth running the spread (classified info) offense" later that evening.
