Representative Jimmy Gomez, serving California's 34th district, recently shared his thoughts on pressing issues via social media. He addressed concerns related to firefighters' health, senior citizens' access to Social Security benefits, and accountability in government operations.

On March 19, 2025, Gomez highlighted the risks faced by firefighters during the LA wildfires. He stated: "Firefighters just fought to keep Angelenos safe from the devastating LA wildfires—risking toxic exposure that increases their cancer risk. We must have their backs." He announced his co-sponsorship of the FIRE Cancer Act to provide these first responders with free lifesaving screenings.

Later that day, Gomez expressed concern over difficulties seniors face accessing Social Security benefits. According to him: " DOGE is making it harder for seniors to access their Social Security benefits." He cited a leaked memo indicating reduced phone support causing longer waits and delays for seniors who rely on these benefits.

On March 20, 2025, Gomez criticized Republicans in Congress and emphasized his efforts for accountability regarding taxpayer information security. He posted: "Hey Republicans — instead of being Musk’s personal lapdog, how about doing your job?!" Gomez reiterated his commitment to demanding answers within the Ways and Means Committee concerning protections against misuse of taxpayer information by Elon Musk and DOGE.
