Representative Jimmy Gomez, currently serving California’s 34th District in the U.S. Congress and known for his active presence on social media, voiced his disapproval of several actions taken by the Trump administration and other high-profile figures in his recent tweets.

On March 28, 2025, Gomez criticized the Trump administration’s decision to lay off health experts, stating, "The Trump admin. is laying off thousands of health experts — people who fight infectious diseases and help Americans access Medicare and Medicaid benefits. This decision is careless and irresponsible — and it’ll cost lives, especially as measles spreads."

Later that same day, Gomez addressed Elon Musk directly in another post at 16:10 UTC, expressing his opposition to various actions attributed to Musk and his association with the cryptocurrency DOGE. In the post, Gomez stated, "Hey @elonmusk I'm SPECIFICALLY opposed to you and DOGE: Trying to gain access to our SSNs Delaying SSN benefits for seniors and people with disabilities Laying off essential govt employees like nuclear experts and health workers Just to name a few issues..."

In a third tweet also posted on March 28 at 19:32 UTC, Gomez commented on an executive order issued by former President Trump, describing it as an anti-union measure. He asserted, "Trump’s executive order is union-busting, plain and simple. He’s targeting workers and unions for standing up to him. But we won’t let him bully hardworking Americans into silence. They say cut back—we say fight back!"
