WASHINGTON, DC – On July 5, 2023, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) announced $125,000 for the University of Southern California to bolster its Center for Economic Development. This investment from the Economic Development Administration funds the second year of a five-year program that provides technical assistance and research and development tools to increase productivity, spur innovation, and promote entrepreneurship to help increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification.

This funding will help bolster regional economic growth by allowing the Center to leverage applied research and technical assistance to help communities capitalize on economic development opportunities.

“I am so glad to announce critical funding for the University of Southern California so that they may continue their work shoring up economic development in Southern Los Angeles,” said Congressman Kamlager-Dove. “As a USC alumna, I understand the caliber of research and work that the faculty and students conduct every day. I will always be a partner in Congress for USC and look forward to seeing how these Federal funds make a difference in our community.”
