As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to a close, we continue to celebrate with LA City She-roe Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighter Paramedic Kerry Crivello.

17

Kerry has been with the department for 5 years. She started her education on the pre-Med track but took a turn when she realized she enjoyed running calls and interacting with people. "It hit me that I loved what I was doing and went to paramedic school."

Kerry approaches each call with the mentality of preparedness. "The best part about my job is really that everyday you go to work and have no idea what’s going to happen. At any given moment your whole day can change."

With every call, there might be wins or losses, "Not everyone is going to survive." But she remembers a time where she was presenting at a local school when a mother stood up and said, "You saved my kid." The wins are sweet. "It's a good feeling you know when you changed the course of that family's life."

Thank you, Kerry Crivello, for serving Angelenos when they need it most.
