UIMG + WCUI externs Help Arizona Veterans and Their Families at the MC StandDown

19

For the past few years, WCUI School of Medical Imaging has had the honor of participating in the Maricopa County StandDown event in Arizona to serve our veterans and their families in our community. The Maricopa County StandDown, is part of the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance (AVSA) program, which provides events open to ALL US military veterans and their families to connect them to critical supportive services. These services include VA and DES Benefits assistance, medical, vision, dental, and behavioral health services, substance abuse assistance, housing assistance, employment services, education services/opportunities, pet care, haircuts, hygiene, and more.

UIMG + WCUI

This year, the local community clinic, UIMG, was able to bring ultrasound screenings back to the veterans. The Ultrasound Institute Medical Group (UIMG) is a low-cost & superior diagnostic imaging clinic in the great Phoenix, Arizona area with additional locations in Beverly Hills and Ontario, California. They work alongside leading Radiologists, Cardiologists, and referring physicians to deliver quality patient care. UIMG is a patient-driven organization, working in an environment that is characterized by compassion, ethics & integrity. They strive to understand others’ needs by working together as a team and bringing trust to practice every day. WCUI’s Susan Ciardullo worked alongside UIMG to help set up this year’s event. “We are even more ecstatic that some of our WCUI externship students were able to participate by serving the community and looking out for their good health following the pandemic.”
