Our goal for the Gertz-Merkin BSU is to ensure that we create a safe space for our scholars who identify as Black/African American/ Mixed Ethnicity

Black Student Unions (BSUs) have been created to:Build awareness, education, and consciousness about being a Black/African American/Mixed-Ethnicity person in society. Promotes positive racial relations on campus by promoting mutual respect for all cultures.

Want to be an ally for BSU? You can….

Educate yourself about different cultural identities and experiencesChallenge personal discomfort or stereotypes placed around different ethnicities
Be vocal about change and support for other cultures (without entering safe spaces)

During our BSU meetings, we will discuss:
Activities
Field trips
Goals (what we want our time to consist of)
And more!!

When: Weekly on Wednesdays at lunch (1:40m)
Where: Room #208 (Mr. Livingston’s room)
