On September 19, 2024, the Center for Digital Government (CDG) announced the winners of the eighth annual Government Experience Awards. These awards recognize the achievements of states, cities, and counties that have enhanced government services to foster better engagement with constituents and create a more responsive government.

This year's winners have redesigned websites and improved services by integrating AI technology. They provided single sign-on systems, constituent and customer service platforms, and inclusive technologies such as enhanced accessibility features, mobility options, broadband provision, and transparency measures. To improve constituent experience in various areas, winners utilized generative AI, customer experience portals, multi-lingual chatbots, live chat functionalities, voice submissions, online help resources, location services, and personalization tools.

Thirty-six Government Experience Project Awards were presented across four categories: city, county, state, and special districts.
