Rep. Jimmy Gomez, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 34th district since 2017, has recently expressed his concerns over several issues through a series of tweets. Gomez, who succeeded Xavier Becerra and previously served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2017, addressed topics involving prominent figures and policy decisions impacting his constituents.

On February 19, Rep. Gomez criticized Elon Musk's influence on personal financial information and questioned the White House's awareness of Musk's role. He stated, "Elon Musk shouldn’t be in charge of anything, let alone our personal bank info. The White House doesn't even know his role." Additionally, he accused Trump and Republicans of being complicit in actions that defraud the American public.

Continuing his critique on February 20, Gomez shared concerns about seniors worried over potential cuts to Social Security and VA benefits by former President Trump. In his tweet, he assured constituents of his ongoing efforts in Congress while highlighting community engagement efforts: "My office has been hearing from countless seniors worried about Trump cutting their Social Security and VA benefits."

In another post on February 20, Rep. Gomez targeted Republican senators seeking federal funds controlled by Donald Trump and Elon Musk, expressing disdain for their actions. He wrote, "Republican senators are now begging Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE for federal funds." He concluded with a strong rebuke: "Grow a spine."
