On February 7, 2025, Rep. Gomez highlighted his personal experience with healthcare challenges during childhood. He tweeted: "I know how vital lifesaving health care is for families. I had no health insurance growing up, and my family nearly went bankrupt when I got sick with pneumonia as a kid. Now, Trump & Musk want to gut programs that keep seniors and kids healthy while giving billionaires another…"

In another tweet dated February 8, 2025, Rep. Gomez expressed concern over ongoing political developments under former President Trump’s influence: "It’s been another week of Trump’s chaos. Here’s what been happening, and how I’ve been pushing back."

Later on the same day, Rep. Gomez addressed actions taken by Democratic Attorneys General concerning access to sensitive Treasury data: "Good. Democratic AGs took action and DOGE’s access to sensitive Treasury data has been temporarily blocked... The damage Trump and Musk have done may be irreparable. They need to be held accountable."
